MISSION STATEMENT To SUPPORT individuals with Developmental Disabilities, ENRICH the quality of life for them as well as their families, and ADVOCATE for their rights of inclusion and acceptance into our society.
PHILOSOPHY AND BELIEFS “There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats its children.” - Nelson Mandela
We believe every individual should be regarded as an equally valued member of society. Beginning with early intervention services, there should be a focus on transitioning children with special needs into adulthood and meaningful careers in the community, not just residential and workshop facilities. We believe in adequate provisions for additional adult services to anyone with developmental disabilities, as well as training and education available to educators, families, and care providers for both children and adults with special needs. The continued focus on research and methods to educate and develop well-trained special needs providers could support more thorough preparatory programs across a broad range of developmental and cognitive disabilities. A critical aspect to any caregiving program is to provide clear communication with all team members regarding the needs of each and every individual. Research suggests the importance of advancing the use of technology in educational and workplace settings for those with disabilities, in order to help them communicate and relate with others, especially when they may otherwise not be able to do so. The future of special needs will continue to focus on research efforts to refine procedures and working to develop more effective training, communication, and instructional techniques. Because research suggests that the special needs career field will continue to expand due to the extraordinary rates of diagnosis of individuals who have developmental and cognitive disabilities, we intend to support the need to provide for those in the workplace, classroom, and home setting. As special needs professionals, the most ideal quality we could possess is an unconditional love of all people. Our agency reflects the devotion to those who do not yet have a voice, because the ultimate goal is to provide safety, routine, and positive behavioral supports, as well as an organizational skill-set to emphasize the routines and management structures necessary for the success of individuals with varying degrees of cognition, especially in their daily activities. Our peers, family, friends, and professional relationships confirm that we are nothing less than loving, caring, compassionate, and sensitive to the needs of others. Furthermore, a strong sense of integrity to communicate every option available to families with regards to the needs of their child are honored and respected as the only approach to diagnosing, educating, and caring for individuals with special needs. Our proven history of honesty and trustworthiness, with the experience to communicate with all team members clearly about individuals’ progress, needs, and personal rights. We strive to become educational and community leaders who can communicate the need for family centered services that are available and necessary to those children and adults with specials needs.
